Appliqué is described as the process of sewing one piece of fabric ornamentally to another. This can be done by hand or with a sewing machine, but takes skill and patience. However, embroidery machines can be used to produce perfectly guided appliqué stitches.
The appliqué process is a very secure and professional looking method of attaching badges to garments.
A laser cut woven badge is fixed to the material and an overlapping keyline embroidered around it. It basically involves using an embroidery machine to attach a badge to a garment, and it is an alternative to pure embroidery which will allow much greater detail in the design, and often at a lower cost.
The result is a superb finish combining the design definition of a woven badge with the richness of the embroidery finish. It definitely overcomes many of the problems of loose edges etc. when a woven badge is sewn onto a garment, and it looks a much more professional finish.
If you are not clear on this method of attachment for your woven or embroidered badge please talk to a member of our sales team.
